Polar Seafish Ltd is a recently formed company, created from the merger of Polar Ltd and Nova Seafish Ltd. The new company own and operate the stern trawlers f/v New Polar, f/v Robin M Lee and f/v Sil. With their roots in the fishery going back over three decades, Polar Seafish inherits the significant knowledge and expertise of crew, management and staff which has been built up over this period.
The shareholders remain committed to the ongoing development of the fisheries in the South Atlantic and have worked together to enable this dynamic restructure to proceed in a positive way to bring benefits to all involved, especially to the Falkland Islands as a whole.
The new structure enables numerous synergies and efficiencies to be gained, as well as setting out a new and stronger relationship with our Spanish partners. This new relationship includes restructuring the marketing arm which sells much of our catch, and in which Seaview and Seafish shall hold a significant equity stake.
